The flavour of a Friesian cheese is traditional to the Friesland region of the Netherlands. To produce a balanced flavoured cheese a few cloves are mixed evenly throughout the cheese with the cumin and then the cheese is aged for at least eight months. This produces an unusual but delicately flavoured aged cheese.
